چکیده

Background: Malaria is caused by the Plasmodium parasite and a highly transmissible disease representing significant global public health burden. The provision of insecticide-treated mosquito nets (ITNs) has contributed to reduction malaria across endemic countries. However, detection insecticide resistance in many vector species potentially threatens long-term effectiveness ITNs. A novel method reduce impact treat with multiple active ingredients. Methods analysis: This review will comprehensively search literature (both published unpublished) for any studies investigating treated ingredients, known henceforth as dual-active-ingredient (DAI) DAI ITNs interest include those pyrethroid non-pyrethroid (review question 1) or an insect growth regulator 2). Studies be screened meet inclusion criteria minimum two authors, followed assessment risk bias (using appropriate tools randomised non-randomised studies) extraction relevant information using structured forms independent authors. Ethical Patient Prioritization in Disaster Triage: A Protocol for a Systematic Review

Background: Disasters are medically defined as events in which the demands for patients’ care far exceed the available resources. In such situations, triage and rationing of limited resources are inevitable. A decision regarding triage needs not only scientific guidelines but also an ethical framework and supporting policies. This study aims to provide a comprehensive review of the criteria for...

Insecticide-treated nets for preventing malaria in pregnancy.

BACKGROUND Malaria in pregnancy is associated with adverse consequences for mother and fetus. Protection with insecticide-treated nets (ITNs) during pregnancy is widely advocated, but evidence of their benefit has been inconsistent. OBJECTIVES To compare the impact of ITNs with no nets or untreated nets on preventing malaria in pregnancy. SEARCH STRATEGY We searched the Cochrane Infectious ...

Antiviral agents for preventing cytomegalovirus infection in pediatric renal transplant recipients: A systematic review

Background and Objective: Cytomegalovirus (CMV) infections are associated with severe morbidity and mortality in patients, especially pediatric renal transplantation patients. The use of immunosuppressive agents places these patients at the risk of viral infections. As cytomegalovirus infection influences the graft outcome, adopting useful strategies for limiting this virus after transplantatio...

Strategies for delivering insecticide-treated nets at scale for malaria control: a systematic review.

OBJECTIVE To synthesize findings from recent studies of strategies to deliver insecticide-treated nets (ITNs) at scale in malaria-endemic areas. METHODS Databases were searched for studies published between January 2000 and December 2010 in which: subjects resided in areas with endemicity for Plasmodium falciparum and Plasmodium vivax malaria; ITN delivery at scale was evaluated; ITN ownershi...
